Tasting Notes
This is where my tasting notes will now live. They reflect what my impressions were of the beers on the day I evaluated them. As my methods and palate have evolved since that first review I may even revisit some of them to get my own second opinion.
The beers I have evaluated were just those that appealed to me at the time of purchase. Sometimes I am in the mood for a specific style, sometimes a specific brewery, and sometimes something I have never seen or heard of before. There are beers here that I enjoyed quite a lot and some not much at all.
At the beginning I had to find a way to organize my tasting notes other than by the date I did the review. After all, I still needed the ability to find what I was looking for after the count got into the hundreds!
With some research I settled on using the Beer Judge Certification Program Style Guidelines as a reference for categorizing my personal reviews. The BJCP is a fascinating topic by itself, but that will be a subject for another day. The system has worked for me to this point and since I started with it, I will keep on that path.
My tasting notes are only my opinions. It seems that I am constantly searching for the correct words to pinpoint an aroma, or identify a color, or to describe a flavor. I think that I get better with each beer, but I know that I have fun with each evaluation.

this blog needs more jolly pumpkin!!
I will put in on the list! I suppose now I only have to decide whether to go to Michigan or just around the corner to Redlight Redlight?
