A NIGHT WITH THE HOPS

Even before seeing what The Wife posted this morning I planned to pass up the standard beer news format for Thursday to highlight the news that is most important to me personally.  Well that news and a mention of shovels finally hitting dirt in Ithaca.  That I find interesting as well after seeing the plans hanging on the wall when we visited a few months ago.

Getting back to the point of this post, does everyone remember this?

Fermented PromoWell the full pilot is now up and ready for some feedback.  After premiering it at Redlight Redlight earlier this week it is time to keep spreading the word to see what you all think about it.  There are a some rough edges and we have some tweaking to do as we move forward with future episodes, but I think it was a really good first effort and especially so for a few guys not used to being on that side of the camera.  Many thanks to all of the people who held our hand through the process that day and who worked so hard in helping us to get this far. This Wednesday will be marked as a day of self promotion or more specifically as a day promoting a show that Brent Hernandez and I are very soon to put out there to the world via iZonOrlando.  Conceptually Fermented has been thought of as this . . .

Pull up a barstool and pour a pint — then join us! The name says it all as this show celebrates all things fabulously fermented, from craft beer to craft foods. If you find yourself lost and confused when it comes to choosing the right beer or pairing your beloved brew with some snacks, we’re here to help. Keeping our feet firmly planted in the world of craft beer we’ll feature some of the great artisans that call Central Florida home while looking at the latest and greatest fermented products from across the globe. And then we’ll put our picks to the test with a panel of judges!

Though I have made some videos at home along the way neither of us had ever gone through a day with multiple cameras, microphones, retakes, and everything that comes with making a show like this.  It was a lot of fun and we actually made a few decisions on the fly that changed the show a bit from what we thought it would be going into the day of the shoot.

In the very near future the pilot episode will be released (stay tuned for a screening party next week at Redlight Redlight) and that will be the launching pad for the series going forward.  We will see what worked well, what did not as much, and use that information along with viewer feedback to make the show even better as we move forward.  Until the actual release on iZonOrlando you can check out the promo video now . . .
