It should be pretty obvious what I have been doing this week and what I have going on in the near future after reading through this list.  “Random Thought Sunday” has arrived at the perfect time, allowing me to take a short break from the work around the house and getting me back in the living room in time for the NFL games coming up very soon.   There is even a bit of beer news thrown into the mix today just for fun.  Without further delay . . .

Random thought #1 – Having friends or family coming to visit from out of town is great incentive to finally complete projects around the house that have been put off for months.  Of course that inevitably means you will do nothing to the house for the months after the visit.

Random thought #2 – I am a sucker for the opportunity to have a beer flight, whether from the same brewery or many different ones.  Why make yourself settle on just one beer when you can try six?

Random thought #3 – Is it the fumes that put you into a trance while painting?  It is often an incredibly tedious task, but the hours seem to pass by very quickly.

Random thought #4 – Learning that at least one more (good) brewery will be canning their beer really got me excited this week.  I am not sure why, but it just feels right to drink beer out of a can every now and then.

Random thought #5 – It is amazing how much more efficient I am with household tasks with a clean garage at my disposal.  Now that also means I have a lot of work to do to get it messed up again.

  1. Caldera started canning there brews when I was living out in Ashland a couple of years ago. http://www.calderabrewing.com/
I remember being wicked excited to be finally seeing craft beers in cans. We stopped by one day to pick up a dock special keg (there choice for $65 or so… an awesome deal) and the guy just put a few cans in our hands and gave us a huge speech about how cans were way better than bottles. I must admit that most of the details are way over my head, but I definitely approve of beer innovation!
