There isn’t much that is random about today’s “Random Thought Sunday.”

I know that the NFL season officially started Thursday (I was sure to watch the whole game), but today is the day I (we) have been waiting for since the clock hit zero in the Superbowl.  What a great football week it was and will be.  Combine the Thursday NFL game with a full slate of college games yesterday (and earlier on Thursday), add in today’s NFL lineup, and tomorrow’s Monday night football and it just can’t get much better.  How awesome is it that this is the basic football schedule that we have to look forward to for the next dozen weeks or so (whenever the college regular season ends)?

Since I burdened you all with a long post yesterday, I will keep it short today.  The Wife and I will be heading out in a few hours to join a friend to watch football at a local bar and see a few of our teams match up in week one.  I will wait to see what my options are before choosing my football watching beer for today (Warsteiner Oktoberfest and a nap yesterday).  Beer and football are just meant to go together.

What brew do you choose to hit the couch and grab the remote with on an NFL Sunday?

  1. Hmmm…no brew today…contemplating a sweet ice tea vodka with lemonade…

  2. On this NFL Sunday… I am watch the Red Sox day/night double header ;) I am also drinking Spaten Oktoberfest. Its an easy to drink beer but I would not put it on the top of my list. Luckily, Liza and I have plans to go to the Three Penny Taproom tonight after dinner (If Katy hasn’t sent you to there website you should check it out… I think its one of my best lures to get you to bring yourself and the lady up here :) )

  3. decided to try that samuel smith’s imperial stout, glad i did. excellent beer and the price is right!

  4. Managed to fit one Blue Light into my day…..however, it’s just not NFL Sunday with the sound of the wagons circling.

Tonight is the start to my NFL season…and I’ll probably consume one Sam’s Octoberfest…and at least one cup of coffee. Getting up at 5am makes watching a Monday Nighter difficult.
