Sometimes I have to think about it a while, but other times a good “Random Thought Sunday” topic just screams out to me.  Or, in this case, it makes me laugh.

After going out to grab a few groceries, The Wife and I were at home putting away said groceries and cleaning up a bit before football games started.  As it has been mentioned many times, The Wife is very supportive of my passion for and hobby of beer.  Today, however, she had a few moments of drama when the extent of my current beer supply was realized.

There was beer stored on the counter that is now moved to the dining table.  That was obvious.  She was even well aware that some of the supplies for my next batch of home brew were also on the counter.  When she went to put some things away in the fridge and saw that the entire bottom shelf of the fridge was filled with beer it began.  The yelling, ranging from somewhat quiet to quite loud, started.  Shortly after came my uncontrollable, almost rolling on the floor laughter.

She went to put vegetables away in one of the drawers.  Nope, it was filled with beer.  There was an attempt to move the milk to another spot only to find that some yeast and brewing spices were in the way.  Then came a try at reorganizing some things by moving them down into the shelves of the door.  Sorry, I had hidden a few bottles of hefeweizen down there.

All is now well though.  There was room for everything and The Wife is over the mild frustration and enjoying a Dogfish Punkin Ale to help make space in the fridge.  I am only glad she didn’t need to fit a new bottle into the wine fridge or my sides would have split from laughing so hard!

Since the season for it may be over soon, here is a short video about the Punkin Ale.  Consider this a preview of what is to come during “Dogfish Head November.”
