For those of you going to the Great American Beer Festival this year (September 24-26 in Denver, Colorado), be sure to consider an opportunity to sample some very special beers while supporting a good cause. I will be far away from Denver in late September (Central New York and Maine) so I would like to pass along the details in hopes that someone will go and tell me how great it was. If you want to bring back some product for me that would also be just fine!

The list in Zymurgy magazine of the top fifty beers commercially available in the United States is more than a month old now, but since this site wasn’t around at the time I don’t feel bad about only getting to it now. I have tried about a third of those on the list and I would love to work my way through the rest. Since there are a bunch of them that I have not seen on the shelves here, I may have to travel a bit to get that done.

At the risk of losing The Wife as a designated driver at times, I will leave you with a story indicating that drinking beer can be good for a woman’s health. If there wasn’t reason enough before to enjoy a good beer or two, now there is.
